everyone's welcome, nobody's perfect, and anything's possible.

Rather than being defined by buildings, styles, or services, we're a family of families who follow Jesus together. And it's our hope that you'll feel welcomed into our gatherings and lives as we learn to be more like Him.

Our Gatherings

On Sunday mornings, we gather in two locations to celebrate Jesus. Like any other get-together, there'll be people to greet you at the door, and some refreshments to help pick you up while you're there.

In the service, there will be times of music, prayer, and messages as we learn to follow Jesus and celebrate what God has done together.

Kids' Grove

We've designed safe and inspiring environments especially for our children to learn how much they are loved by Jesus. Each of our children are precious to God and to us, so we're excited to lead them to walk in relationship to Him.

Our Story So Far

Church at the Grove began as a dream to reach the first generation of the East Metro-Atlanta area born and raised in a post-Christian American culture.

In 2006,  we launched our first gathering at Youth Middle School in Loganville, GA, under the leadership of founding pastors Russ Butcher and Craig Story. We began to connect with local schools, community organizations, and law enforcement by serving the local community. We worked to create environments where people could come and feel welcomed no matter their background.

In 2010, we moved our gatherings to the new Walnut Grove High School, and we saw growth in depth and reach.

In order to reach more people with the message of Jesus, we decided to take a big step of faith and launch another campus in Social Circle. By 2012, Nathan and Katelyn Boyd had left their familiar surroundings in Walnut Grove to launch a new Sunday gathering at Social Circle Middle School.

In March of 2012, Pastors Russ Butcher and Nathan Boyd flew to Oradea, Romania, and ordained Pat Hardin to launch our third campus and spread the gospel across the Atlantic!

In 2014, God led Church at the Grove to enter into a capital stewardship campaign called "Exponential." This campaign was setup so that we could reach more people, plant more churches, and invest more in the community. This campaign also paved the way for us to complete a permanent facility for our Walnut Grove campus in 2016 on 20 acres of land that serves as a "hub" for ministry.

We continue to be amazed at how God uses our weaknesses and frailty to change lives and give the hope of Jesus to our communities!
