Lesson 3 of 4 · 14 min
Jesus: The Center of the Story
After centuries of waiting, the promises converge on one person. Jesus is the offspring who crushes the serpent, the son of Abraham who blesses the nations, the son of David who reigns forever, and the new covenant in His blood.
The kingdom arrives
Jesus announced, "The kingdom of God is at hand" (Mark 1:15) — and showed what God's reign looks like: the sick healed, the outcast welcomed, sins forgiven, storms stilled.
Cross and resurrection
At the cross, Jesus took the fracture of Genesis 3 on himself — "He was pierced for our transgressions" (Isaiah 53:5). The resurrection is God's verdict that the sacrifice was accepted and death itself has been beaten.
Reading the whole Bible through Jesus
After rising, Jesus told His followers that everything in the Law, Prophets, and Psalms pointed to Him (Luke 24:44). That's the key to the whole library: every page whispers His name.
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
Mark 1:15
