Lesson 4 of 4 · 10 min
Prayer & Your Next Steps
Prayer is simply talking with God — honestly, like a child with a good father. You don't need special words, a special posture, or a special place.
A simple pattern
When Jesus' followers asked Him to teach them to pray, He gave them the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9–13). A simple pattern drawn from it: Praise (God, you are…), Thanks (thank you for…), Ask (please help…), and Confess (forgive me for…).
Start small and honest
Two minutes of honest prayer beats twenty minutes of performance. God isn't grading your grammar — He's after your heart.
Your next steps at the Grove
1. Keep going — take the next course, The Story of Scripture. 2. Get connected — join a group where you can ask questions in a safe circle. 3. Talk to someone — if you're ready to follow Jesus or want to be baptized, we would be honored to talk and pray with you. Reach out anytime.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
