The Holy Spirit

In this week’s opening message of the More Than Conquerors: Romans VIII series Russ begins the message with asking a question related to the Apostle Paul’s struggle from Romans 7. The question is “What is wrong with me?” Paul has an obvious struggle with his sinful nature or Flesh and is thankful for finding the answer in Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 7:15-25). Romans 8:1-2 make sense in that context as Paul declares that there is therefore now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. Paul then shares our struggle and battle between the flesh (sinful nature) and the Spirit. Growing into spiritual maturity is not instantly complete but a lifelong endeavor and is only accomplished as we grow by the Spirit in Christ. God’s provision for God’s people is God’s Spirit.
