Weekly Update 3/10/21
DID YOU MISS LAST SUNDAY'S TALK?
At a time when the world thought leadership meant violence and military domination, Jesus declared that peacemakers were the children of God. Despite his audience’s expectation of a messianic general, Jesus introduced the idea of peace with God as revolutionary action.
Just like the original audience of the beatitudes, we are living in a culture that is full of hate, violence, and fear. The peace that we are called to make isn’t merely the absence of violence, but rather a peace that strives for wholeness and reconciliation with others, with no distinction between friends or enemies.
